Why We Breed Boxer Puppies
We are not large breeders, we only have one litter per year. So can you really say it’s a “Boxer Breeding Program?”
Yes, we can, because we have a plan to accomplish several things and work to achieve each goal.
We Breed for Boxer Temperament & Personality
In Boxer dogs, temperament is important. Our girls have the calm, docile Boxer “gene” which can be rare. Many people think Boxers are hyper and just don’t stop running around and leave a destructive path in their wake.
Yes, they are wigglebutts, but for the most part, they keep it contained to their massive wiggling at your feet.
They are primarily content to be couch potatoes and lay on the couch with you while watching movies or NetFlix. In fact, Leah refuses to lower herself to “dog status” and thinks games like fetch are beneath her and she looks at us with a snide contempt. Lady, on the other hand, is a different story.
In our opinion, the best dog for a pet is a Boxer!
We Train for Brains
Did I mention Leah thinks she’s human, with a human IQ (kidding). But yes, we train our puppies so they can be as smart as possible. How can this be you ask? Well, service and working dogs are not created by accident.
As puppies, most service dogs are handled and exposed to their environments in a way that wires their brain pathways and connections to problem solve.
Early Neurological Stimulation of puppies, also called the BioSensor SuperDog or the “Super Dog Program” is key to creating healthier well-adjusted dogs.
Studies show these exercises may improve cardiovascular performance (heart rate), and create a stronger adrenal system. The dogs also have a greater resistance to disease and are more tolerant to stress.
Why is being resistance to stress important?
Stress is not bad. Stress is something all dogs will encounter. Some examples of stress to dogs include thunderstorms, fireworks, car rides, trips to the vet, and even introductions to new people.
Well adjusted dogs can adapt to various situations like stairs, elevators, rain, and loud noises calmly without reacting. You don’t want your dog afraid of everything.
Below is a video of training puppies to stairs from our Facebook page.
It’s not to say all of our Boxer puppies not be completely fearless. There is obviously follow up training once you get your puppy home. But we lay the groundwork with early puppy neurological stimulation.
Why do we breed Boxers for Families
When we say we love Boxers, we really do. We think as family dogs, Boxers are the best! If you are looking for a new Boxer puppy here are some questions to ask a dog breeder before buying a puppy.
We will be more than happy to answer all your questions.
We love to share our love of Boxers with other families and are so proud of our Boxer puppies when they go to their furever homes.
They love to please, they love people and the natural Boxer temperament, personality and character make them great kids dogs. Boxers are patient and love people.
What kid doesn’t want a loyal dog who will follow them everywhere? The best big dogs for kids include Boxers. Kids and big dogs are great together because they can look at each other at eye level. To a dog, a child is part of their “pack”, a sibling.
We love watching Boxer puppies and kids interact. Our greatest satisfaction is teaching little kids about dogs and watching their confidence grow as they form a life long bond.
