Leah’s Boxer Pups – Litter 2017

This litter will always be special because it is when we added our lovely Lady to our Boxer family. We really wanted a fawn girl and Leah really stretched out her pups and it took about 8 hours for the first six pups.

We again used Theo and we knew this would be his last litter as a stud because he was getting up there is age. This was his last litter he sired and we are so glad we have one of his pups.

If you love Boxer dogs then these pictures of Boxer puppies will make you want to get another Boxer puppy.

Leah always seems to start having puppies at midnight and stretch whelping into the wee hours of the morning. This litter was no exception.

Birthday June 8, 2017 (4 brindles, 2 fawns, and 1 white)

Meet Lady Diva, our fawn Boxer pup, isn't she pretty?

We had a count of four brindle puppies, one fawn boy, and a male white Boxer puppy. No fawn girls. I was disappointed but trying not to show it. It was a warm June day and I remember taking Leah outside. I went inside to clean and change the bedding.

What did I see? One more PUP!! Six hours after her last we had Lady, a petite fawn Boxer baby. I was thrilled. She was certainly a Lady Diva making her way into the world with an entrance on her own time.

She still commands attention.

Puppy Family Visiting Day

One of the things we really look forward to with every litter is getting to know our puppy families. We had one white Boxer puppy in this litter and his name is Forest. As in “Run, Forest Run!”

Yes, we did call him like that across the yard and that is how he learned his name.

Forest the Talking Dog

He was very vocal right from the start. He learned to say Momma very early and according to him Mom he hasn’t stopped talking. Forest is still a talking dog and talks back to his Mom and Dad all the time.

Cute Pictures: Boxer Puppies & Names

Meet Oakley a flashy fawn Boxer puppy. See other cute pictures of Boxer puppies from flashy fawns, reverse brindles, and even white Boxer puppies.

Oakley was almost a twin of Lady, in fact it’s really difficult to tell them apart in pictures. In-person it was easy. Oakley is a boy Boxer and Lady is a girl Boxer, easy peasy.

But even though they look alike there are slight differences. Lady had a black spot on her lower lip. Oakley also had a wider stripe on his face.

Sometimes when a family picks an initial name it doesn’t seem quite right after a week or so. So Dax became Salvy.

The interesting story behind Salvy is the kids did NOT know they were coming to pick out a puppy. It was a total surprise. Their oldest son just cried tears of joy and surprise.

Meet Harley a brindle Boxer puppy who found his forever home with a young family.

Are Boxers Good Family Dogs

Are Boxers good family dogs? The answer is a resounding YES!! Most of our puppies go to families with small kids. Harley here at even nine weeks of age seems to be claiming his boy.

This look just says “Don’t mess with my boy” or, “You’re going to have to go through me first”

If you are wondering if Boxers are good family dogs it is a resounding YES! Boxers are one of sever good dog breeds kids can feel safe and secure around. They are playful, protective and will be a best friend for many many years.

Sweet Bella our Brindle Boxer Girl

Bella was the sweetest out of the whole litter. She learned to stay and come commands at a very young age and had a sweet disposition before going to her new home. Her family visited every week and we often barbequed, ate lunch and traded garden vegetables.

Bella did learn some bad habits early on and decided SHE wanted to dominate the household and be the alpha. This is typical of Boxers. They can often be strong-willed want to take over and get their way.

This is where puppy obedience training classes become important to continue the training we start.

About a year of age though Bella got died suddenly with no explanation.

Brindle Boxer Puppies

Brindle Boxer puppies can really come in two distinct color patterns. There is the darker reverse brindle, like Xerxes and the traditional brindle such as Jax below him.

Xerxes Mom and Dad fell head over heels for him and drove from three hours away several times to visit. They are just one of our Iowa families. The next year they came back to get another Boxer puppy from us. His name is Gizmo. Check him out in the 2018 Litter.

Jax stayed local in western Nebraska and went home with a girlfriend. Last year he sired his first litter of pups. A lot of them look just like him too.
